DEEDS NOT WORDS

DEEDS NOT WORDS

The Deeds Not Words Festival took place in May 2018 to mark the 100th anniversary of the Representation of the People Act.

This five day festival featured a variety of events including a Cafe Chantant music evening, a talk by Professor Patricia Fara from Cambridge University, re-enactments of speeches and guided tours.

The centrepiece of the festival was the brand new community play The Sisters of Castledine Street, telling the story of the two Corcoran sisters from Loughborough who became involved in the suffragette movement.

Chorus Theatre designed and curated this festival in partnership with Charnwood Arts.
