PROJECT ENLIGHTENMENT

PROJECT ENLIGHTENMENT

An exciting 2 year long project in collaboration with the 1620’s House and Garden in Donington-le-Heath.

During this project Chorus Theatre worked with a number of different schools and professional practitioners to create new, imaginative, and diverse performances and experiences at the 1620s House and Garden.

Our first project took place in the summer of 2019. We worked with children from Seagrave Village Primary School to create a new play The Heart of a Traitor that was performed open-air in the grounds of the house. In the autumn of 2019 we worked with young people to create online video guides to the 1620s House and Garden as part of the Kids In Museums - Takeover Day initiative. At Christmas 2020 we presented our interactive murder mystery The Strange Case of Venetia Stanley for the staff and volunteers at the house.

In 2020 we worked with Newtown Linford Primary to create a new film about objects and artefacts in the house, and with Belvoirdale School in Coalville on a series of science themed workshops.

During 2021 we delivered a series of schools workshops based on stories, history and science connected to the house.
