Meet the experts behind our company

ANDREW McWILLIAM - Director

Chorus Theatre was founded in 2006 by Andrew McWilliam to create new and exciting drama projects for young people and the community. He has directed all Chorus Theatre productions.

Andrew trained as a director at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. 

His directing credits include:
Krapp’s Last Tape and Us and Them both at Bristol Old Vic. Much Ado About Nothing, Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet (Black Cat Theatre), Teechers (MC2 Productions), Live! In Your Living Room (Dream Café Theatre Company), Pyramus and Thisbe (Act-Up Young People’s Theatre), Sunday Morning at the Centre of the World (Four Corners Theatre Company), Can’t Pay? Won’t Pay!, The Woman Who Cooked Her Husband, Elsie and Norm’s Macbeth (CCT), The Memory Room (Century Theatre/Blue Box Youth Theatre), Wasted (Citizen 598).

As a director for Chapterhouse Theatre Company Andrew has directed national tours of Twelfth Night, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, alongside the children’s shows Goldilocks & Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk & Hansel and Gretel, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella.

Andrew’s work as an actor includes productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Chapterhouse Theatre Company), A Christmas Carol (Storytellers Theatre Company), The Winter’s Tale (Big Adventures) and two devised projects based on Aladdin and Sinbad in the United Arab Emirates.
