Emma Marshment, Burton-upon-Trent

I was a little nervous before beginning the project with Chorus Theatre as I had never devised anything before, although I had worked on scripted projects. I learned so much through this process about creating drama and also I realised how much more connected I felt to the source material when I had been part of the process of creating the script rather than it being handed to me. Andrew guided us through the process expertly and always listened to our ideas as well as encouraged us when we were unsure how to continue. My confidence grew and I felt so much prouder of the end project knowing that I had truly helped to create the work.

A big thank you to all cast members, who made it possible for me to appear in the play Last of the Luddites...without their help, I would not have had the confidence to do this. I was pleasantly surprised how well it was received. Andrew brilliantly portrayed the many aspects of the story. Well done to all again!

Nikki Hening, Diseworth, Leicestershire

A very moving performance. Till The Boys Come Home. A lot of work with the rehearsals but all made very enjoyable with a lot of fun by Andrew McWilliam. To perform in three different venues was not easy but it worked and so many people came to see it. Great support from Amanda and Rose. Thank you Heritage Lottery, Andrew and the lovely cast.

Sheila Sharpe, Kegworth, Leicestershire
I have recently been involved with the community play about the First World War which was performed in Kegworth, Diseworth and Long Whatton. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would most certainly recommend Chorus Theatre to anyone interested in joining with them in future projects.

Goff Lewis, Ashby-de-la-Zouch
In conjunction with Diseworth Heritage Trust, Chorus Theatre have delivered a very thought provoking Community play to commemorate how WW1 impacted on the Northern Parishes of North West Leicestershire. Andrew provided professional leadership, creativity and motivation for the Company who performed many characters, stories and songs which were appreciated by all those who came to see the play at 3 separate Village Venues.

My children had a whale of a time preparing and performing their plays at Play In A Day recently. Whilst watching the performance, their obvious enjoyment made it not only entertaining to watch, but a real pleasure for me as well. I wouldn't hesitate to sign them up for the next one as I think they get so much out of it; confidence, team work, the satisfaction of making something from nothing in a day, and performance skills. Thank you Andrew!

Tony Hilton, Loughborough
A well organised yet relaxed atmosphere made for an interesting, entertaining and good value day out. A satisfying and worthwhile theatrical piece can be created quickly using simple imagination and ideas.

Play-in-a-Day Project. A very intensive day, yet good fun. A challenge, which is suitable for everybody, regardless of previous drama experience. Constructively creating a mini production and the opportunity to perform it. I last did devised work in school drama classes (except we called it improvisation then!), so it was a really good chance to look at that way of working again.

Elli Andrews, Beeston, Nottingham
As a freelance theatre professional, working with Chorus Theatre on 'For the Glory of God Alone' at Ravenstone was a very enjoyable experience and one I would happily repeat. The work encapsulated the spirit and history of the community and retained high production value and standards. The process and performances received positive feedback from cast, creative team and audience alike and I thank Chorus Theatre for an extremely enjoyable summer.

Becca Riley , Ravenstone, Leicestershire
My son, Sam, and I have really enjoyed being involved in the community Play "For the Glory of God Alone' telling the history of Ravenstone Almshouses to celebrate 300 years. The production team have been inspirational and very supportive, allowing the company great freedom to write and perform the story in their own way. Sam has really enjoyed researching the history of the building and has learned a huge amount about the history of his village from this, as has our whole family. A really great learning experience, bringing history to life in a meaningful way. We have all enjoyed watching the show- well done to all the company- a fantastic production in a beautiful setting.

Julie & James Augustus, Breedon, Leicestershire
Andy and his group have done amazing things in Diseworth, working with the young people and giving them the freedom to use their imagination and input their own ideas, producing what can only be described as a masterpiece of their own hard work.
Our daughter Charlotte loves going to drama, and has said that she doesn't ever want it to stop, and we feel the same. It is such a wonderful thing which gives the kids chance to fully express themselves, and we love it. Camcorders and smiles at the ready. Keep up the good work.

Isabelle Simpson, Leicestershire
My daughter Alicia's self confidence has grown enormously since she first joined up with the Diseworth drama group. She has an enormous passion for drama as a result and adores attending the drama sessions. The seed was definitely sown by Andrew's tutoring skills. Thank you for helping her to develop in so many ways.

Miss Johnstone, St Barnabas C. of E Primary School, Leicester
Andrew spent the entire day with my year 3/4 class. The children were set the challenge of reading and performing an extract from popular children's books. The children were engaged and enthusiastic and on task throughout. They even had the opportunity to perform this to the rest of the school at the end of the day which they thoroughly enjoyed and showed a new level of confidence in their acting abilities! A fantastic day which I strongly believe was beneficial to each and every child. Thank you Andrew from all of us. I hope we will be able to work with you again in the future.

Steve and Lorraine Jennings, Wilson, Leics.
The work Andrew and his colleagues do in bringing young people together to devise, create and perform these wonderfully imaginative shows is invaluable. Not only thoroughly enjoyable for participants and audiences alike, the young people also benefit in so many ways. Our 10 year old son went along with a friend not knowing quite what to expect 2 years ago and has never looked back since. Amongst many activities this drama group is always his favourite. Each rehearsal he comes home absolutely full of the ideas they are working on. His confidence and stage presence has improved significantly in such a short time. He has made many friends, and realised just how creative he can be. Thank you Andrew & Co. Please keep up the good work.

Sheila Sly, Derby
I spent a delightful hour this evening watching 14 young people entertain an appreciative audience with their devised production of Arabian Nights. How refreshing to see a production that has come out of weeks of allowing imagination and creativity to flourish under careful and sensitive direction. All the performers shone in their roles but the sense of a company working and having such fun together was the most enjoyable part of the experience for me. Well done all of you.
